The motor is easy to start, quieter, and per same job uses less fuel than other 2500 psi pressure washers. This Dewalt unit takes more effort to handle however, and the pressure to keep the trigger squeezed can be fatiquing which requires me to move back and forth from one hand to the other fairly frequently.
This DeWalt 4200 PSI Pressure Washer can complete the task in an hour using far less water in the process by evidence of pooling run-off and it does a better job.
This pressure washer is build tough to handle the rigors of trade demands. It has the Honda GX360 Commercial Series OHV engine with Oil Alert and an industrial pump. Welded steel construction with 13″ premium pneumatic tires so it takes the abuse of long commercial in service cycles. We could not find any other competitors units with commercial components for this low price under $1500.

DeWalt 4200 PSI Pressure Washer has plenty of power to blast mildew and dirt off siding and walkways, as well as prepping decks for stain or paint. The frame is high quality and not cheap materials. It’s a little on the heavy side for being a portable unit, so you have to use ramps on your pickup to get it into the truck by yourself.

It takes some strength to pull the cable and in case it doesn’t start on the first pull, you have to bleed the pressure from the wand in order to continue pulling otherwise the starting rope doesn’t let you pull against the back pressure. For only $1000 the pressure is great and will cut the amount of time working significantly over a lesser unit. A full gas tank will give you almost 2 full hours at highest pressure. Make sure you have the supply wide open when using.

DeWalt 4200 PSI Pressure Washer Review

The DeWalt DXPW4240 is part of the Pressure washer test program. In our lab tests, Pressure washer models like the DeWalt DXPW4240 are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.

Cleaning: Versatility and efficiency in cleaning a range of surfaces. The better performers have multiple spray patterns that can cover various cleaning chores, from light, superficial cleaning to deep cleaning of concrete, decking, and other hard-to-clean surfaces.

Power: A combination of pressure, measured in pounds per square inch (psi), and flow, measured in gallons per minute (gpm). Higher pressure results in better cleaning of a given surface; coupled with a higher flow as well, you’ll get the job done the fastest.

Noise: A combination of measurements, based on dBA, reflecting the proximity of the operator to the pressure washer. While our Noise score averages measurements taken close by the machine and at the end of the hose’s typical reach, we strongly strongly recommend hearing protection for working close by a gas powered pressure washer in particular.
